How to remove rust from concrete

In many homes, concrete slabs and driveways provide an avenue to move around. Sometimes, rust stains this concrete which affects the curb and aesthetic appeal of your home. Here are some steps on how to remove rust from concrete.

Wash the Concrete

The first thing to do when you notice rust on your concrete, is to try to wash it off. To do this, get a dish sip and warm water, then with a sponge, wash thoroughly. After washing, use a pressure washer or hose to rinse the spot.

Use a removal solution

When the surface of your concrete is clean, you will then need to apply some rust-stain removal solution. The solution to use depends on how severe the rust stain is. You could try lemon juice and white vinegar for mold stains, but for major stains, buy a commercial rust-stain removal product.

Scrub the concrete surface

After applying the solution to the concrete, give it some minutes to soak in. After some time scrub the surface using a brush. A stiff-bristled nylon brush will properly clean the surface without problems.
