How to Get Oil Out of Concrete

Only some people know how to remove oil from concrete. If you own a car and have a concrete driveway, you can expect oil leaks occasionally. Learn how to use detergent, cat litter, and dish soap with baking soda to erase the concrete oil stains below:

Clean Excess Oil Off Concrete With Cat Litter

  1. Cover new oil with kitty litter.
  2. Crush it with your feet.
  3. It should sit overnight or longer.
  4. Using the shovel, scoop up the kitty litter and throw it away.

Application of Baking Soda to the Oil Stain

  1. Apply Baking soda to the oil stain. Big stains would probably need the box.
  2. Allow the baking soda that has been sprayed on the oil stain to sit for at least 15 minutes.
  3. The baking soda will be more effective if you add liquid soap.
  4. Make a paste using water.
  5. Scrub for many minutes.
  6. Use water to rinse.
  7. For deep stains, repeat.

Remove Oil Stains from Concrete Using Detergent

  1. Sprinkle detergent over the stain.
  2. Add water for a paste.
  3. Brush the stain in circles.
  4. Wait two hours.
  5. Rinse till the stain disappears.

Final Note

Make sure to use safety gear like hand gloves and eye goggles to protect yourself in case of splashback while trying some of these methods out.
